“The Heartbreak Industry” follows Karen’s recent journey through a veritable onslaught of Facebook ads from exploitative relationship coaches and scammers, through to psychics and practitioners of the black arts, to dark psychology masters promising surefire ways to lure back her ex.

Karen Bijkersma is a Melbourne-based author, feminist and single mother of two. Karen has worked as a professional writer and editor for over thirty years and has published two non-fiction books to date, titled “Best Ever Baby Tips” and “The Book Every Woman Needs to Read: Women Speak Out About Gendered Domestic Violence: 28 Stories of Survival”.

Come along to the Function Room at the Stolberg Hotel, 197 Plenty Road Preston at 6.00 PM onwards for a meal and interesting conversation with like-minded individuals.
